About this voyage
We start our adventure with two days in Dubai, home of the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, and a destination renowned for its upscale hospitality and dining. Soon we’re on our way to Fujairah, a lesser-known member of the UAE that is no less impressive, and the only Emirate on the Indian Ocean. Muscat next, Oman’s historic capital, where you can see the Sultan’s colorful Al Alam Palace and shop for silverware at Mutrah Souq, a busting traditional market. A day at sea takes us along the coast to Salalah, for the ruins of a UNESCO-listed ancient city at Al-Baleed, once visited by Marco Polo, and a museum dedicated to frankincense, which is harvested here. Three rejuvenating days at sea take us to our final stop, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia’s gateway to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina, and home to Al-Balad, the city's historic 7th-century heart, a labyrinth of alleys, coral houses, and multiple mosques, including one built 1,400 years ago.
