Countryside Sightseeing with Lunch

Experience overview

While it's nice to visit the highlights of a city or an area, nothing gives you a better understanding of a people or their culture than when you go to where the locals go and do what the locals do. You and your small group will travel through Fern Gully to the hills of Claremont where you will get to interact with the locals and see their way of living. Make your way to Higgin Town, a parish of St. Ann, for Insta-worthy views of the beautiful coastline below. While here, pay a visit to a local elementary school (if open), then see how coffee is grown at a local coffee farm. Over in St. Ann's Bay you will have the chance to interact with the vendors at the local farmers market while you taste seasonal exotic fruits. Be sure to get a photo with the Christopher Columbus statue, then stop at Scotchies Jerk Center for the best jerk on the island. Sink your teeth into mouthwatering jerk chicken, pork or sausage served with an array of delicious sides including roasted sweet potatoes and rice and peas (beans). Don't leave without trying the festival, a fried flour dumpling with a splash of sugar that is an island favorite.
