Experience overview

Perfect for travelers on a tight schedule, this half-day tour will introduce you to the famous Sete Cidades (Seven Cities) crater lake. The lake - which is actually a twin lake - connects two distinct water masses via a narrow strait. Do not leave the Azores until you've laid eyes on this beautiful sight. Book your Sete Cidades tour today. Before you get the main attraction, you'll spend part of this tour at a pineapple plantation. Here, you'll learn about the fruit and the different stages of growth, all while enjoying a liqueur tasting. Once you're done here, you'll herd to a nearby peak -- Pico do Carvao - for some great photos; this vantage point overlooks the center of Sao Miguel Island and lets you see the different coasts.More photo ops await at another viewpoint - Vista do Rei - where you'll finally get a good look at Sete Cidades' namesake lake. Relax and take it all in: It's quite the experience to witness this beauty up close. After admiring the landscape, you'll begin your return journey to Ponta Delgada - but not before stopping by another lake (Lagoa de Santiago) for one last photo op.
