Experience overview

Spend the day exploring the main highlights of the medieval heart of Tallinn, Estonia's capital on the Baltic Sea and the country's cultural hub. Begin your journey at the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, a striking Russian Orthodox church that dominates the skyline at the top of Toompea Hill. Completed in 1900, this architectural landmark features an impressive ensemble of eleven church bells housed within its towers. Descending Toompea Hill, you'll come to Toompea Castle, the seat of the Estonian Parliament. Built on the remains of a 13th-century fortress, its Baroque-style facade reflects a blend of influences left by various rulers through the centuries. Nearby stands St. Mary's Cathedral, often called the Dome Church. Originally constructed in the 11th century from wood, it was later rebuilt in stone and restored many times following fires and conquests, resulting in its distinctive mix of styles. As you continue through Tallinn, you'll pass through a retro Soviet-era residential district and see Kadriorg Park and the Song and Dance Festival Grounds, both important cultural landmarks. Your tour concludes at the local market, where you'll visit a brewery stall offering authentic Estonian craft beer. Here, you'll sample a selection of beers and ciders paired with local farm cheeses, enjoying a taste of Estonia's growing craft beverage scene.
