Experience overview

A full-day bus excursion from Naples takes you to the scenic Amalfi Coast of Italy and the archaeological ruins of the ancient Roman town of Pompeii. At the Port of Naples, you will be picked up from your hotel in the heart of Naples or directly outside your cruise ship. Drive down the picturesque Sorrento coast from there, making stops for pictures that capture the expansive vistas. Admire the gorgeous scenery as you continue along the Amalfi Coast. For breathtaking views, pause at a lookout overlooking Positano and its bay. Continue the journey at a nearby eatery for a delectable lunch. After lunch, head to Amalfi, where you'll have plenty of free time to explore this charming town. During your free time, you will have the option to enjoy a boat ride along the coast for an additional charge of 15 EUR per person. Next, travel to Pompeii, an archaeological site. Pre-purchased tickets allow you to avoid the lines and save time. Pompeii was a prosperous Roman city until Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD, burying it in ash. Explore the residences, shops, pubs, and even a brothel among the excavated ruins while on a guided walking tour of the historic Roman streets. Return to Naples after your trip to Pompeii. The itinerary for visiting inside the Pompeii ruins might vary based on factors like when specific locations are open and how many visitors are present on the day of your tour. A temple, a market, an old store, a villa, a thermal bath, a theater, and the forum are among the structures you are certain to explore. Every day, the tour operator chooses which buildings to see based on availability, wait times, and crowd sizes. Additionally, a visit to a Cameo manufacturing facility is part of the tour. Typically found during the excavations of Herculaneum and Pompeii around 1748, cameos are pieces of jewelry from the Roman era that are handmade by talented artisans using shells and gemstones. You will get the opportunity to observe a craftsman in action while you are at the factory. In addition to being educational, the industrial stop is necessary since it provides access to restrooms before approaching the Pompeii site. A minimum of six participants is required for the excursion to operate in the selected language. You can take the tour in English or select an audio-guided tour in your native tongue if the minimum number of participants is not met. Please Note: The entrance fee to Pompeii is included in the tour price, and all guests must present a valid photo ID on the day of the tour. Children under 18 may enter for free with valid identification. The stop in Positano is a scenic viewpoint stop only, and during the off-season, it may be replaced with a viewpoint in Agerola, where you'll still have time to enjoy the views and take photos. On national holidays and the first Sunday of each month, long lines are common, and the itinerary may be adjusted to ensure the best experience.
