Your first stop will be at Murano, an island made famous by its 700 century-old tradition of blown glass art. Once on land, you will make your way to one of its glass factories to observe a glassblower create a work of art before your very eyes. View the beautiful array of jewelry, sculpture, and tableware, then pick out your favorite one to purchase as a souvenir. Afterward, enjoy some free time on your own. Perhaps take a picturesque and leisurely walk to the 12th century Cathedral of Saints Maria e Donato, with its beautiful Romanic architecture and well-preserved mosaic. From there it's back on the boat for a short ride over to the island of Burano, listed as one of the 10 most colorful cities in the world by many international magazines. It will not be difficult to understand why as your guide brings you through streets lined with houses in almost every color you can imagine. While here, drop by a lace laboratory to learn all about the island tradition of lace making.
